A Little Bit About Nico
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering. My path has taken me in various roles around project & process management. Across my multiple roles, I’ve been responsible for working within Agile teams, guided by the SCRUM framework, ensuring quality throughout the development cycle. What this means is instead of making one giant, rigid plan at the very beginning and then following it for months (which can be tricky when things change!), we work in a very flexible, step-by-step way.
My jobs have taken me into organizing teams that built or planned things in small, manageable chunks. We’d focus on one small part, get it done, and show it to people to ensure they liked it. This would be what they needed before moving to the next small part. This way, we could quickly adjust if ideas changed or if we found a better way to do something. Throughout this whole flexible, step-by-step process, my primary responsibility was to make sure that every single piece we worked on, every decision, and every finished part was of high quality from start to finish, not just at the very end.
My Professional Journey
Besides being a partner in OmniBloom, I currently work as a Test & Release Manager for a green-energy company, contributing to a field that aligns with my desire for positive impact.
I’ve been mentoring, supervising, and coordinating engineers, advocating for process improvements, and staying fully connected to the array of tools businesses need to thrive. I’ve been involved in product design reviews, providing input on functional requirements and identifying potential problems. My expertise included prioritizing tasks based on project needs and timelines, and mostly taking the initiative to improve team workflow and contribute to project success.
It wasn’t a straight line, however. What was always there, along the way, and I can see that now: I was always guided by an underlying desire to help. I had always wanted to be a therapist, but at the time, I didn’t have the financial means to pursue that path. During high school, I took an optional programming course and was fascinated by how things combine into an algorithmic structure. I loved seeing how I could shape and structure the processes I wanted to create, which led me to pursue this direction in university.
It was there that I realized the development side wasn’t quite for me, but the aspect of supporting people and optimizing operations perfectly aligned with my personality and interests. This realization led me to a career where I could apply my love for structure and process improvement in a way that ultimately supports individuals and teams.
The Importance of My Work
I’m driven by empathy and a strong desire to help people grow and evolve. I thrive on structure. I enjoy being surrounded by order and bringing order to the processes around me. My professional focus is on project management, specifically creating and enhancing processes, and fostering a safe environment where individuals feel secure, offer trust, and are empowered to discuss challenges and openly express their aspirations for growth.
My neurodivergent perspective helps me see things in intricate detail and understand how various components fit together. This innate ability allows me to focus intensely on the quality of everything I deliver, ensuring a thorough and integrated approach to problem-solving and process creation.
My Partnership with Gina Enache & OmniBloom
My partnership with Gina is truly special. I sincerely appreciate her creative and idea-rich mind. Where she generates many divergent, sometimes unformed, ideas, my pragmatic side naturally steps in to bring order, direction, and prioritization. It comes effortlessly to me to coordinate these efforts. I initially supported her through the first steps of her vision. Later, because I have such profound trust in both this project and its potential to help people, as well as in Gina herself and her capabilities, I wanted to support her further and create a company together.
We are pillars of a healthy business where the focus is never solely on financial prosperity. Instead, it’s about earning a peaceful living from our work and reinvesting the rest back into the company and the world, striving to bring about more positive change within ourselves and others.
There is immense transparency and trust between us. I know that we both genuinely want the best for each other. We are very close, trusted friends, and professionally, we are a true Yin & Yang that perfectly complements one another. I am incredibly grateful to be doing this with her and enthusiastic about showing the world a model of a non-toxic business.
My Contribution to OmniBloom
My role at OmniBloom is primarily focused on the organizational and structural aspects of our processes. I ensure that we adhere to legal frameworks and best business practices. Essentially, I relieve Gina of the stress associated with organization, optimization, and prioritization, allowing her to focus on her creative and therapeutic strengths.
What Do People Need to Grow?
From my perspective, an ecosystem is fundamental for personal growth and development. It’s crucial for us to realize that we aren’t strange or inherently wrong. We need to believe that help and support are available when we express our needs. Beyond that, the individual’s focus on building healthy habits is paramount. I especially highlight sleep and nutrition. Having personal negative experiences with eating disorders, I understand firsthand how vital it is to cultivate a healthy relationship with food.
Top 3 Strategies for Quality of Life
If I had to pick three strategies to improve one’s quality of life, they would be:
- Community: Building and engaging with supportive connections.
- Sleep: Prioritizing consistent and restful sleep.
- Sport/Movement: Regular physical activity.
My Vision for the OmniBloom Experience
I hope that the OmniBloom experience will foster a strong community of people united by a desire to share healthy habits, cultivate trust in relationships, and believe in the best of humanity. I want people to find the “joy of living,” share it with others, and inspire the development of healthier communities.
My wish is for us to be the drivers of the very beginning, and for many similar activities and passionate individuals to emerge from our work, all committed to creating safe spaces for themselves and those around them. I will be helping to develop ideas and vision and, crucially, putting them into practice. I’ll be focused on the applicative side of bringing our aspirations to life.
The Vital Role of Personal Development
In a world filled with so much pain and suffering, it’s incredibly challenging to navigate everything that happens around us. I often feel a sense of helplessness. Personal development is vital because it equips you with tools to manage what is within your power, helps you understand your limitations, and enables you to contain all the feelings you experience. Perhaps my own limitations drove me to seek out supportive communities and build trust, which is why I believe it’s so important for everyone.
In Nicole’s Free Time
In my free time, I love going to the gym to disconnect and recharge. I enjoy walking in nature, swimming, and exploring new places. I also spend time reading to understand why I am the way I am, and why people behave as they do. I absolutely adore animals; being surrounded by them makes everything better. They are pure and honest, which I find incredibly comforting.
Currently, I live in rural Denmark, which I like to call the middle of nowhere, offering its own unique charm and perspective. I am surrounded by nature, animals, and peace – all essential pieces of what I consider a balanced life.
Fun fact about me
I am naturally left-handed but was forced to write with my right hand as a child. As a result, I taught myself to write with my left hand, and now I am ambidextrous.
