Gina’s Background
I am a psychotherapist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy. I completed my master’s degree in Health Psychology and Behavioral Optimization at the University of Bucharest. Initially, I spent four years working with autistic children before transitioning to seven years of individual and couples therapy at the Mind Education clinic in Bucharest, Romania.
My expertise spans transactional analysis, cognitive behavioral psychology, schema therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and EMDR techniques. I am passionate about integrating neuroscience into my practice. I firmly believe that physical and psychological health are interconnected, emphasizing the importance of caring for the body to understand emotions better and enhance resilience in everyday life.
My Path to Psychology
It might sound cliché, but I’ve always felt a deep urge to help others. Not because I consider myself fully healed, but because I understand the loneliness and confusion that come with suffering. I believe in the power of support during tough times.
Another driving force behind my career choice is my fascination with people and the human mind. I’ve always been intrigued by the intricacies of human behavior and the ways in which we can realign ourselves when we veer off course.
My decision to become a psychologist was solidified at the age of 15. I found myself grappling with aspects of social behavior that didn’t quite add up, and I yearned for a deeper understanding. Moreover, I often found myself reacting in ways I couldn’t fully explain, prompting a desire to cultivate healthier habits. Beyond personal growth, I wanted to positively impact those around me, learning valuable lessons from those who placed their trust in me.
Even after years of study, my curiosity about people remains unabated.
Fulfillment in Psychology
For me, being a psychologist is like watching a flower bloom. Imagine planting a seed and then taking care of it and watching it grow and bloom. Each person has different traits, backgrounds, and rhythms of evolving. It’s such a tough process sometimes. And without exception, every person who consistently kept putting effort into understanding and becoming more aware of themselves and their impact on others bloomed in their own way.
It’s such an emotional moment when that happens. Looking back on months or years of work and realizing that “all of a sudden,” you choose to behave differently. You feel differently, more connected, and aligned with yourself, and you choose to react in kinder ways toward yourself and others.
It’s not “all of a sudden.” It’s the small steps and consistent efforts that a person keeps making even when it doesn’t make sense, even when it hurts, even when they don’t feel motivated anymore.

Behind the Retreat: Motivation and Goals
As a therapist, I enjoy doing individual therapy sessions. But I also know and see that we need greater connection with other people with the same interests. I have many people in therapy who feel lonely in their process of self-growth.
So, this is partly for them. To find a place with other like-minded people where they can be properly guided by different experts and also support each other through the uncomfortable process of changing their habits into something more helpful.
The retreat that I have in mind combines a relaxing vacation with practical, helpful routines. The goal is for the participants to feel rested and rejuvenated, and go home with a clearer idea of themselves and what they want to focus on.
The most important part for me is that people have more clarity on where they are standing at this point in their lives, and they have clarity on what they need to do to be more connected with their actual needs.

Choosing the Right Experts for Our Retreat
When selecting experts for the retreat, I prioritized a diverse range of qualities. Firstly, expertise was paramount — I sought professionals with solid credentials and extensive backgrounds in their respective fields.
Equally important was empathy; I looked for individuals who could create a safe, supportive environment for our attendees.
Interest in group sessions was also key; I wanted experts who could engage effectively with participants in both one-on-one and group settings.
Overall, I aimed to assemble a team that not only possessed impressive qualifications but also had a genuine passion for guiding others toward holistic wellness. I am thrilled with the panel of experts we have hired and know that anyone who attends the retreat will have an extremely high level of care and guidance.

Enjoying Fun Activities
I love dancing, so I go dancing or dance around the house every chance I get. I started with ballroom dancing when I was young, but I have to say my favorite is Argentinian tango.
But any type of movement does the trick. I’ve always enjoyed sports, whether on a team, in a group, or alone.
Exploring Unique Hobbies
I am curious by nature, so I have many interests. As I said, I like to move, so my first choice is to play a sport, hike, or walk—anything that keeps me in motion. I do my best thinking in motion. One of my goals is to climb a challenging peak, possibly Aconcagua.
I enjoy reading, writing, painting, traveling, and connecting dots from all sorts of fields. I have trouble getting bored.
